A delightful 19th century Provencal treasure!
Crosses have long symbolized Christian devotion, but by the 19th century, they had evolved into striking fashion statements that blended faith with personal style. This exquisite French Provencal Paste cross is no exception!
Crafted circa 1820 in sterling silver, this cross is one of the more opulently designed pieces we’ve had. Just look at that construction! Sterling silver is rendered into a sizable cross shape, and haloed at the top by a perfectly knotted bow. The silver creates a wonderful canvas for the dainty 9ct cross in the center, and this stunning array of glittery diamond paste stones.
Perfect as a brooch or dangling from a chain along the small of your neck, this cross is a wonderful piece for the antique and art connoisseur alike!
