The Victorian language of flowers added an extra symbolic strand to the forget-me-not’s message of remembrance: that of true love. And because the Victorians adored both sentimental and symbolic jewelry, and because the five-petalled forget-me-not was relatively simple to depict, it became a common motif.

Australian Opals alternate with almandine garnets to create an electrifying 6 petal flower. This English ring dates to the 1870's, and the date mark was scrubbed in a careful resize. The band is also beautifully etched and detailed.
