During the Victorian era, navette or “little ship” rings were highly en vogue, serving as the perfect statement pieces for elegant nights out or celebrations.
This gorgeous vintage ring is a rare treasure, as it beautifully reinterprets the iconic 18th century navette design in a sleek mid-20th century façade. Crafted in 14 carat gold, this ring features stunning scrolling foliate design around the center halo of the ring. Equally striking is the vibrant blue cobalt enamel setting, upon which sits a scalloped, spike setting of central pearls; the pearls are arranged in such a way that they almost appear to be floating off the ring!
The blue enamel panels on either side draw heavily from the 18th century style and shape of a navette ring – as well as its revival in the 19th century. Though the design is nostalgic, this ring is actually likely from the 1960’s! It has simply been fashioned to look as if it has come straight from the Victorian era.
A delightfully elegant and unique antique piece, perfect for any connoisseur’s collection!
