A breathtaking treasure, fit for royalty!

It is no exaggeration to say this is one of the most beautiful rings we’ve come across in our collection. Just look at that construction! The silhouette is delicate but whimsical, and the design is mirror-esque and reminiscent of Alice’s Looking Glass in the beloved Lewis Carroll novel.  

Design-wise, this ring is a wonderful mix of Art Nouveau and Victorian Revivalist sensibilities. During the mid-20th century, Victorian fashion experienced a resurgence of popularity, particularly in jewelry and the decorative arts.

This ring is a wonderful example of this aestheticism, with its elaborate Victorian Revival shank, and positively stunning pear-shaped amethyst stone. Crafted in a lovely 14 carat yellow gold, this ring also features a sparkling prong-set quartz stone, which accents the ring face quite beautifully.

The shank is truly the star of the show; upon closer inspection, the motifs exude not only Alice-In-Wonderland whimsy, but a sirenic oceanic essence. Swags of boules extend from the shoulders to the shank, while a delicate shell motif anchors the ring face.

It is likely that this ring was converted from an antique brooch or pendant. Either way, this is an opulent and magical addition to any antique jewelry collection!
