Have you ever felt personally victimized by cupid, himself? Indeed, you are not his first victim, and you likely will not be his last... Depicting the moment in which he inflicts a new victim with the fire of love, Cupid is here seen delivering a burning torch to an unwilling recipient. His intended receiver recoils from his delivery and sheilds herself as she works upon a friend's wedding garland, reclining without concern. But the impudent imp is incessant, and delivers her the burden of love none-the-less. She best prepare her brow, as she will next wear Hymen's coronation diadem, that cupid will deliver with his other hand.

In 18ct, this enamel was likely once the back of a pocket watch- so finely rendered, it now lives a happy life as a brooch. In an 18ct setting.
