Dainty and darling! This French Diamond ring is a fine example of Napoleonic design. Crafted circa 1840’s in 18 carat gold, this piece features one of the most beautiful rose cut diamonds of the period, a Napoelon III example. Also gorgeous is the triple “knife band” construction, a common detail of jewelry from mid-19th century France.
Adding to the sweetness of this ring is the delicious rosy pink hue to the gold, which adds a romantic flair to the silhouette. This pinkish gold was rare, and highly coveted in antique French jewelry. Today, a ring of this design is still highly sought after, making this a truly unique and valuable piece.
A wonderful treasure for both art historians and antique jewelry enthusiasts alike!
