The perfect whimsical adornment! Our fantasy at the Curio is that every jewelry lover can own a jewel (or 12!) that bridges the past into the present day. Curio fantasy jewels are just that: objects that marry a historical object, with Elle’s imagination towards how they should enjoy the next leg of their lives – creating a new situ for a historical object to be enjoyed within!
Curio Fantasy objects are each one-of-a-kind, and can never be recreated. This gorgeous ring features a gorgeous 19th century Italian intaglio of a lion, cast in a soft peachy jasper. Intaglio rings are an iconic testament to Italian craftpersonship and culture. In ancient Rome, intaglio rings were designed as totems of power and wealth, and also served as seals for hot wax – allowing the wearer to emblazon their documents with their unique, personally commissioned signature.
We’ve reimagined the roman design of this ring by adding a delicate hand-wrought braided band, casting a perfect, classy silhouette for the hand. With its fine detailing and gorgeous artistry, this ring would make a wonderful addition to any antique jewelry lover’s collection!
