One of the most coveted periods of antique jewelry has long been Georgian jewelry; with a greatest attention to the rare period of Renaissance revival at the end of the 18th century which many English and European jewels enjoyed. I have had the pleasure of handling only a few rings that fit this exact tradition, and this rose cut diamond band is one of the best examples of this moment. Note the arched construction of the neoclassical shoulders that leads to delicate arms, which buttress the three bezel set central diamonds. In 15ct and sterling This is a jewel of true historical import: the shoulders are classic of the period but hearken to a much early aesthetic. In the image appendix, I've included a detail of a 16th century painting from spain, depicting La infanta Isabel Clara Eugenia y Magdalena Ruiz, painted between 1585 – 1588, to underscore the earlier tilt of this design. I am so excited about this ring and I am certain it will go to a very worthy, immaculate collection.
