An extremely elaborate frame features this rare and outstanding Enamel language-of-flowers scene. Within we find a massive blooming pink rose, (new/young love) a fantastical red/orange/yellow spider chrysanthemum (passion neglected) white bower vine (a late blooming love), a large blue forget-me-not, and an African violet (devotion.) Well… If that’s not a love letter, I don’t truly know what is!
This piece is remarkable- to balance and properly weight, an onyx slab was added at the back by a later jeweler.
