In general, the 1970s were all about statement jewelry. Most pieces were large and attention-grabbing, meant to stand out against both the flowy, peasant outfits many young women gravitated towards and the boyish streetwear teens enjoyed.

Layers were also popular, and it was common to see women wearing several chain necklaces on top of one another. Often these pieces were layered on top of turtlenecks or deep-v' necklines to provide an interesting glint to an outfit.

This chain, a sign of the times, is in sterling silver and features pearls throughout, giving the piece character and class. Perfect for layering or as the stand-out solo piece, this chain is essential to any collection. Additionally, pearls are the ultimate symbol of wisdom - speak of a wise choice!
