The Fleur de Lis was a common theme in the jewels of the Victorian era. Everything French was fashionable. "Fleur de Lis," French for "lily flower," represents a stylized lily. The Fleur de Lis has commonly been used in heraldry and is particularly associated with monarchial France.

This monarchial connection is rooted in the baptism of King Clovis I, often considered France’s founder, after he converted from Paganism to Christianity. Legend says that Clovis received a golden lily at his baptism made from the tears of the Biblical Mary or Eve. This tied the fleur de lis to purity, as baptisms represent a rebirth.

This brooch features radiating fleur de lis motifs that lead to a central Maltese cross that is perfectly embellished with diamond crossbars. Ruby, representing love and passion, and pearl, symbolizing wisdom, along with the packed symbolism, this gorgeous brooch is a great addition to any hairdo, look, or collection.
