Shrouded in mystery these extremely rare earrings are a stunning example of early 18th century symbolism. The lore is that they are made of bears' blood, mixed with composite wood, to represent the ferocity of the love that these earrings symbolize.

The "first" one (worn to then left), shows a singular heart floating above cupid's quiver of arrows, encircled by a wreathe. This singular heart was perhaps struck by one of cupid's arrows, to join with another and beat as entwined, crowned double hearts in the "right' earring, telling the tale of a lover's hero cycle.Β
