A superb Victorian brooch to ring conversion, this jewel has lived many lives. I imagine that the center once held a locket of hair, upgraded to an extraordinarily saturated, custom-cut garnet. The pin back was removed, but the glass locket was intact, she then became a ring, set with a 14K shank.
