A darling little English portrait set in 15ct. Reminiscent of superb KPM of porcelain plaques, this hand painted porcelain miniature depicts a young girl of 12 or so, leaning over a bed of fresh blossoming flowers in a vernal moment. She dons a sumptuous strand of pearls, while wearing quite simple dress, accented by purple, yellow, white and blue. This piece speaks to the tradition of dressing young wealthy children up in provincial ensembles in attempts to hearken back to a simpler time and remember them in their innocence. This cute portrait is likely a delicate portrait of a beloved one. Outstanding in every way, the piece is impressed 32 P on the reverse.
