On the topic of English finger rings, there is something magical about the details that woven into every angle of pieces, especially from the 1860's-1880's. This beauty, with her 6 emeralds and three hyper-saturated Australian opal is beautifully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1886, and exhibits some of my favorite features. To start, 3 surfaces of the band are engraved; the exterior and both outward facing sides. The shoulders feature lotus flowers, and the gallery boasts a Chantilly whipped cream edge. The compact square cut of the emeralds with a high bezel set edge is absolutely killer!
