Outrageous Pair of Egyptian Revival Scarab Swivel Rings in Sterling and Ancient Clay
Along with embodying the concept of existence, development, and growth, the scarab was revered for representing the cycle of life and death. The extraordinary bestial was therefore carved or molded into treasured accessories and amulets throughout centuries.
As a partner's pair of flip rings, we here discover one scarab set with portraits of Pharaoh Mena on the shoulders, the other set with portraits of Queen Cleopatra.
The scarabs are likely ancient, as authentic Pharaonic items were often mounted in jewelry and sold as tourist items in the late 1800s through the early 20th century.
* The scarabs swivel but don’t flip all the way around.
