Some examples of the themes and motifs used in the earlier 18th-century Georgian era were bows, floral designs, "giardinetti" (garden), and feathers while the 19th century saw classical themes such as arrows, quivers, lyres, and intaglios.

This special long guard slide chain boasts 54" in length and features a detailed lyre slider as well as a delicate dog clip. As an attribute of Apollo, the god of prophecy and music, the lyre to the ancient Greeks symbolized wisdom and moderation.
