The larger, more impressive sister to a riviere-- this tassel necklace is a remarkable example of mid 18th century French work. In 18ct and sterling, full articulation of the tassel to allows individual ribbons of Emeralds and Diamonds to shimmy as the wearer moves. Undoubtedly a court jewel, the sentiment of Giardinetti is also explored in the collar, with both forget me nots, and tulips, woven into the scrolling design. It is a one-of-a-kind jewel which belongs in the highest order of collection.
