An elegant and timeless Victorian treasure!
This 19th century Herringbone Rope Chain is a delightful feast for the eyes! Crafted circa 1880 in a vibrant 18 carat gold, this chain is chunky and eclectic – featuring six large individually soldered gold circles constructed around each singular chain round.
It took hours upon hours to construct each element of this chain, and the meticulous skill is palpable – this piece simply glows with an effervescent gleam, and has a classically romantic silhouette.
This chain also features a French style enclosure, which we find particularly curious! Though it is English in origin, we believe the chain was designed to compete with the French market. It certainly succeeds in its goal of exuding French romanticism – this chain can be either dressed up alongside other ensembles, or worn alone as a statement piece.
A wonderful addition to any antique jewelry collection!
