An extremely rare necklace in 18ct with 166 beautiful hand carved coral beads, in a graduated scale-- all leading to an incredible gold-backed carved bacchante face. This incredible early 19th century Italian jewel possesses a true luxury countenance that will be a symbol of status in any social circle; one that has been seen as such for over 200 years. Coral is something that inspires a visceral reaction in the viewer and appreciator, this color of coral is one of the most coveted in the antique jewelry world, a vibrant peach shade. I have never had another quite like it, with a special focus on the carving of the Bacchante's peculiar features.
